The Anderson Collection at Stanford University presents the inaugural Burt and Deedee McMurtry Lecture featuring the 2015 distinguished guest lecturer and renowned artist Wayne Thiebaud.
Free, but an RSVP is required.
Thiebaud is a Northern Californian painter famous for his depictions of ice cream cones, lipsticks, cakes, confections, and gumball machines. In addition to his well known colorful and textural paintings like Candy Counter, 1962, housed at the Anderson Collection at Stanford University, Thiebaud has made great contributions to arts education, teaching for many years at institutions such as the University of California at Davis. This talk will feature a lecture by Mr. Thiebaud followed by a Q&A.
This event is generously made possible and free to the public by Burt and Deedee McMurtry. The Burt and Deedee McMurtry Lecture Series is an annual event of the Anderson Collection at Stanford University.
