Come Out to Play for Earth Day
Castro Valley celebrates Earth Day and springtime with a focus on food security, organic gardening, and environmentally friendly landscaping. On Saturday, April 23, 10 am – 4 pm, Castro Valley Library will host an Earth Day celebration, organized by ForestR.org and VeggiePalooza East Bay. The event will be held outdoors at the Castro Valley Library. Masks are required to enter the library, but will not be required outdoors.

Featured Exhibits & Activities
Visitors will be invited to help launch Sage Park, a permaculture pocket park newly created by ForestR.org with Green Thumbworks Native Landscapes, to model environmentally friendly landscapes. Additional activities include access to the new Castro Valley Seed Bank, seedling and harvest exchanges, an earthworm adoption, environmentally themed craft activities for children, a Friends of the Castro Valley Library pop-up environmental book sale, and more.
