Event Details

Dr. Félix Gutiérrez will highlight the personal family narratives of Emilia Castañeda and Victor Villaseñor that appear in Episode II: Empire of Dreams. He will share similar family narratives from the Acción Latina oral history archive. Listening stations will be at the venue and attendees will be encouraged to browse through the archive. El Tecolote reporters will be present to gather audio recordings from audience members who would like to contribute their family’s migration narratives.

Images of newspapers and journalists from the late 1800s – early 1900s will be exhibited. Examples of news corridos will be played.
