Event Details

Mark the 70th anniversary of the signing of the United Nations Charter at the very site the document was printed. BAM/PFA’s new building, now in the final stages of construction, integrates the former UC printing plant where the original signatory copies of the UN Charter were printed in 1945. A plaque on the exterior of the building commemorates this historic role of the University of California Printing Services.

They invite you to drop by from 11 am to 2 pm on Friday, June 26, 2015 to print your own copy of the UN Charter’s inspiring preamble, then personalize it with collage, colored markers, and glitter. Artists Kristin Kyono and Kim Bennett will facilitate silkscreening and embellishment at tables set up right across Oxford Street from the new BAM/PFA building. The monumental outdoor sculpture Sphere Within Sphere by Arnaldo Pomodoro marks the spot.
