Join the Chinese Historical Society of America before the Chinese New Year Parade for a full day of programs to welcome the Year of the Pig.

Museum admission is free all day, so be sure to bring your friends and family to enjoy the many programs planned around the Year of the Pig festivities.

Plus, enjoy free admission to the exhibitions: the groundbreaking Chinese American: Exclusion/Inclusion about the Chinese immigration story to the United States, and their newest exhibition: Towards Equality: California’s Chinese American Women.

Featuring:

  • Lion Dance performance by Kei Lun Martial Arts to kick of CHSA’s celebration
  • Poetry reading with Flo Oy, Nelli Wong, and Genny Lim
  • Elaine Chu of Twin Walls Mural will lead CHSA visitors through a mural painting activity in commemoration of Chinese New Year
  • Jeffrey Staley will read excerpts from his novel “Gum Moon: A Novel of San Francisco Chinatown”
