2016 Salsa Block Party

Come shake it at the 8th Annual Blake Street Salsa Block Party, the original Berkeley Labor Day Monday salsa block party, with the Bay Area Salsa & Timba All Stars band, plus DJ Walt Digz and DJ José Ruíz, and SambaFunk’s King Theo as Master of Ceremonies.

Blake Street, btwn Ellsworth and Fulton, Berkeley
FREE, but donations ($10+) are suggested and a portion goes to charity.

The little street with trees in the south side of Berkeley, known as Blake Street, will be closed from 10 am to 7 pm to once again showcase the music that soulfully moves, mentally grooves, and, possibly even, spiritually heals.

2016 Music Schedule
(mas o menos, i.e. schedule is subject to adjustment or change)

  • Music starts at 2pm sharp (DJ music)
  • Bay Area Salsa & Timba All Stars 2:30pm-3:45pm
  • DJ music 3:45pm-4:15pm
  • Bay Area Salsa & Timba All Stars 4:15pm-5:30pm
  • DJ music 5:30pm-6pm sharp

Bring your lawn chair if you would like to sit, but why since you’ll be dancing. They will not be providing food, but bring some for yourself and more if you want to share. This is an alcohol-free and a kid/family friendly event.

Donations (suggested $10+) will be requested to pay for expenses, but in general, it’s free. 10% of the proceeds will be going to the Alzheimer Association.
