300 SF Bars Might Require Vaccines Starting July 29
If you go out to drink indoors this weekend, you might want to bring a copy of your vaccine card.
Thanks to ABC7 for letting us know that on Monday the SF Bar Owners Alliance, which represents over 300 bars in San Francisco, has officially stated its position that a vaccine card (or negative COVID test within 72 hours) should be required for any patron wishing to dine inside on of their member establishments.
The recommendations apply only to indoor dining/drinking (and does not affect outdoors – anyone is welcome to visit outdoors or in parklets). The guidance by the Alliance is set to begin on Thursday, July 29, 2021.

According to SF Eater approximately 85% of the members were generally in favor of requesting proof of vaccination.
It’s important to note that the statement put out by the alliance today is simply a recommendation and it is up to each individual bar owner to set their own policy whether or note vaccines are required.

We need everyone to get vaccinated, especially as the Delta variant continues to spread. It’s how we can keep our city and our residents safe. https://t.co/RAENDN4SrK
