Sea Stars Making a Big Comeback on San Francisco’s Shores

With humans away from the beaches, large plump sea stars are back at Lands End.

While San Francisco is staying at home, the animals are slowly taking over.  Thanks to the SF Examiner for sharing with us that while the humans are (mostly) staying away from the beaches, large purple and orange sea stars are making a return to China Beach and Baker Beach to lunch on mussles.

This is a great sign, since back in 2013 sea stars along the west coast were thought to be dying off due to “sea star wasting disease.” We welcome you back our 5-armed friends!
