#AntiSocialHappyHour: 6pm Happy Hour From Afar

Stay connected with your community with a happy hour toast to your neighbors everyday at 6pm

Keeping our social distance can feel isolating, but it doesn’t have to be.

One creative and fun idea we’ve seen popping up in Oakland is the 6 pm daily Happy Hour from afar. Locals have been stepping outside their doors, or onto their balconies, or even sticking their heads out of the window to raise a toast and give cheers to their neighbors. It’s one little way to feel connected to our community.

So grab a glass of any beverage you like (perhaps a Quarantini) and say hello to your neighbors — from a 6 foot distance, even better — make it 10 feet –in what we’re calling the 10ft Away Block Party.

Use the hashtag #antisocialhappyhour and tag @funcheap on Instagram and we’ll share your photos to help The Bay stay connected.

Of course, please remember to practice social distancing and follow CDC’s guidelines.
