Mid-Winter 2014 “Bar Workers Ball”

A night of dirt cheap drinks, bartender contests and DJs
By - posted 2/17/2014 No Comment

SF’s bar workers work long shifts pouring drinks and dealing with lousy tippers, so it’s time for them to have a night for themselves – at the annual Mid-Winter Bar Workers Ball.

7×7 magazine and Broke Ass Stuart host this annual event featuring free spirits tastings, drink specials, an Irish Car Bomb contest and the blind whiskey tasting contest, plus a photo booth, a mixology contest and DJs to rock you until 2 am.

There are free bites (while supplies last) and complimentary specialty cocktails and beer until 10 pm.

10th Annual Mid-Winter Bar Workers Ball
Tuesday, February 18, 2014 | 9 pm to 2 am
Churchill, 198 Church St, San Francisco
FREE for industry folks, $5 for everyone else

How to Attend?
If you don’t work for a bar don’t fret — anyone can attend, but you’ll have to pay a $5 cover. It’s free for industry folk with proof of employment — that’s Bartenders, Barbacks, Cocktailers, Servers, Bussers, Club Dancers and Door folks.  In past years, if industry folk aren’t paid via check, then they can simply show their bottle opener, wine key, etc.

On the DJ decks will be:

  • Sonny Phono, who holds down “Rock the Spot” every Wednesday at Madrone Art Bar
  • Bus Station John who will be bringing his ribald repertoire from Tubesteak Connection and Disco Daddy
