Caltrans plans to reopen a newly constructed off-ramp to Yerba Buena Island for motorists to access Yerba Buena Island and Treasure Island from the San Francisco – Oakland Bay Bridge this Sunday May 7, 2023 at 7:00AM.

The original alignment of this ramp was closed nearly 20 years ago for improvement and to accommodate work on the new Bay Bridge and the SFCTA’s Southgate Road project which are all now completed.

The new EB-80 Yerba Buena Island ramp (Exit 4B) is located on the far-right lane just past the tunnel on the lower deck of the Bay Bridge. The currently existing EB-80 offramp located on the far-left lane will remain open for several weeks while motorists adjust to the new location to access the islands heading eastbound.

This new eastbound offramp design improves safe access by creating a separation from the vehicle traffic merging onto the bridge and allowing more space for larger vehicles. There are still tight conditions at this location and Caltrans is reminding motorists to slow down as they approach this new ramp to safely exit the bridge at 15MPH.
