Berkeley’s New $1.99 Burger Joint
Campus Burgers, the South Bay’s ultra-cheap smash burger spot, just opened a new location near UC Berkeley and it is already drawing huge crowds. The menu is built for student budgets: $1.99 hamburgers, $2.99 cheeseburgers, and $4.99 double cheeseburgers, plus fries, shakes, and sodas.
This is the third Campus Burgers, joining two San Jose locations. Berkeley gets a rare perk, though: late-night hours. While the other shops close earlier, the Channing Way spot stays open until 3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, perfect for post-game eats or late-night cravings.
Despite rising beef prices, Campus Burgers says they are committed to keeping prices low. With more locations on the way in Gilroy and Santa Cruz, the owners hope expansion will actually help by allowing them to negotiate better bulk prices and continue offering some of the cheapest burgers in the Bay.
