Breakdancing Battles Take Over The Mission
The BBoy Connection Jam is back with free dance classes, lock and pop showcases, DJs, graffiti art, dance and cypher battles and more during Sunday Streets 2016 Kick-Off in the Mission District.

The BBoy Connection are kicking it off by taking over the Mission District for more fun dancing and kids dance contest. Best of all, there will be free dance classes taught by top bboys, lockers and poppers from all over the Bay Area. Plus, catch live graffiti artists, a kids dance battle, live vinyl DJs, “The Bboy Connection” film screening, a bboy history live performance and an open dance floor.

- Popping, locking and footwork classes class
- Rock dance class by Mooncricket and others
2016 schedule:
- 11:00 am: Warm up session
- 11:45 pm: Rock dance classes by Mooncricket
- 12:00 pm: Popping boogaloo funk classes and special guest Bay Area OG
- 12:15 pm: Boogaloo, funk and strut freestyle popping session
- 1:00 pm: Locking class with Doc Lock Phun Keedoc
- 1:15 pm: Open dance session
- 1:30 pm: Rock Dance demo and history lesson
- 1:45 pm: Top Rock & footwork class with guest bboy TBA and Mooncricket
- 2:15 pm: Martial Arts (HD Warriors Way of Kicking by Phoenix H. V.L.) “Hung Van Lam” Hung Van Lam
- 2:30 pm: The Bboy Connection at Sunday Streets is Return of the Cypher. This will be an open mic for anyone who thinks they have the skills to rock the mic. The rules are your lyrics have to be clean and positive. One slip and the DJ will blast you with the needle scratch on the record ending your session.
- 2:45 pm: All female only dance session hip-hop and house music
- 2:55 pm: ’90s dance style flash back dance session
- 3:05 pm: Kids dance contest with prizes
- 3:35 pm: Open dance floor: all styles music and salsa dancing
- 4:00 pm: End of event
