CA Surpasses Vaccine Goal: 1 Million People in 10 Days
Thanks to KRON4 for sharing the good news. Finally, California is picking up the pace on COVID-19 vaccinations.
After a slow start, California is kicking into gear and revving up our vaccination process. Originally, Governor Newsom set a goal for California to vaccinate 1 million people within 10 days; and thankfully, state health leaders have stated that they not only reached the goal, but they surpassed the goal by vaccinating more than 1.5 million people.
Furthermore, Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly has stated that “Because of data delays, we’re confident that it’s even more than the 1.5 million.”
On Friday, January 15, California administered more than 110,000 doses, the most doses since distribution began. Thankfully, Dr. Ghlay also shared more good news, stating that California’s rate of transmission is now below 1. Also on the decline is the state’s hospitalizations, ICU admissions and the overall positivity rate.
