California Might Have Statewide “Curfew” Soon
UPDATE – On November 19th California announced a month-long 10pm to 5am curfew that affects 41 “purple tier” counties starting on November 21 at 10pm.
Thanks to Fox Business from letting us know that California Governor Gavin Newsom announced in a press conference on Monday that the state is “considering” implementing a curfew to help halt the spread of COVID-19.

He said his administration is reviewing studies from Europe and Saudi Arabia, plus looking at the efficacy of statewide curfews that have been implemented in Massachusetts and Virginia as potential examples.
“We also are considering – full disclosure and a little bit of a preview – the notion of a curfew… We want the information not to be anecdotal. We want to really take a look at these studies.” – Gavin Newsom, 11/16/20
State officials are still in discussions on whether or not curfew would be implemented and details about how it might be enforced.
