After five-months of construction that started in February, the Nature Exploration Area (NEA) by the Forest Hill Muni station finally opened in mid August. The park is located behind Forest Hill Station near the corner of Woodside and Laguna Honda.

Made entirely of repurposed downed logs from their urban forestry team, this new area combines natural challenges and gathering spaces to ensure that children can play, learn, and grow outdoors.

Additionally a new irrigation system replacing the station area’s 40-year-old irrigation system is expected to save 442,494 gallons of water per year.

This Nature Exploration Area is part of the Forest Hill Irrigation Improvement Project by the SFMTA and the San Francisco Public Utility Commission’s Large Landscape Grant Program.
