The Mexican army’s 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War. That will be your answer when your friends start to ponder the question, “What exactly are we supposed to be celebrating here?” in between sips of Michelada (or shots of tequila) this weekend.
Eat as many tacos as you want, watch Lucha Libre battles, hear live salsa and mariachi bands, watch Aztec and ballet folklorico dancers, hear spoken word and much more to celebrate and commemorate the day.
