Couple Stranded on Bay Area Island By High Tide Rescued
Two people who had been taking photographs of Monday’s sunset from an island near the San Leandro Marina had to be rescued after being stranded by the rising tide.
Crews from the Alameda County Fire Department responded to the scene with a boat at about 7:30 p.m. and brought the couple back to shore, according to a department tweet at 9:09 p.m. Monday. The post included an 11-second video of the boat returning to shore with the couple on board. No further details were provided.
