Thanks to SF Gate for letting us know that four hiking trails on an undeveloped, 110-acre tract of land in Tiburon have been ruled off limits to the public in a court ruling this week.

The trails in dispute are the Ridge Trail, the Spanish Trail and the northern and southern tails which have spectacular panoramic views of Angel Island, the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco. The trails run through privately-owned land and have been open to the public for walking/biking/hiking/horseback riding for over 50 years.

The court case was brought by TRUST, Tiburon / Belvedere Residents United to Support the Trails, who wanted to ensure continuing public access to the land.

Eastern Point (aka the “Martha Property) lies within an unincorporated territory of Marin County that has been approved for zoning for a 43-lot subdivision of single-family homes and is for sale for juuuuuust $95,000,000 by Sotheby’s.
