Downtown SF’s “New” Whole Foods Closing After Just 1 Year
Thanks to the San Francisco Standard for letting us know the depressing, but unsurprising news that the “new” 64,737 square foot flagship Whole Foods that opened in Downtown SF on March 10, 2023 is temporarily closing down after just 1 year.
The location, set in the ground floor of Trinity Place at 1185 Market St. at Eighth in Mid Market was expected to shut down at the close of business Monday, April 10, 2023 – just a year a month after the spot opened.
According to the Standard, Whole Foods says this closure is temporary and they’ll consider reopening if they can “ensure the safety of our team members in the store.”
Update: As of 5pm on April 10, 2023 the location has already been removed from Whole Foods’ website

I’m incredibly disappointed but sadly unsurprised by the temporary closure of Mid-Market’s Whole Foods. (1/7) https://t.co/lthpC90xTL
