“Drive-in” Graduations Coming to the Bay Area?
Thanks to KRON4 for letting us know that San Mateo County will be allowing “vehicle-based gatherings” for graduation ceremonies.
This graduation season, the senior high school class of 2020 now have a choice between virtual graduation or drive-in graduations. With San Mateo County’s newly approved order, people are allowed to get together for certain “highly regulated vehicle-based gatherings.”
The new order allows for events in San Mateo County, like high school graduations, to take the form of a drive-in movie, but unlike a tailgate party, there’s a lot of rules to these now allowed car gatherings. – KRON4
“One car at a time people can get out to, for example, walk across the stage for the photo op and collect their diploma,” Claire A. Cunningham said.
