New Huge Drive-in Theater Coming to Oakland Coliseum?
Plans are to turn the parking lot of the Oakland Coliseum into a new outdoor drive-in theater

Thanks to Oaklandside.org for letting us know that plans are in the works to turn the massive parking lot at the Oakland Coliseum complex into an outdoor drive-in entertainment venue.
“We are going to make it happen,” said District 7 Councilmember Larry Reid, who is also the chair of the Coliseum authority board.
It’s planned for the venue not only to be used for drive-in movies, but to be able to host other socially-distant community events including the possibility of Sunday morning drive-in church services.
No date has been set yet for the opening of the drive-in, but it’s planned to begin “in a few weeks.” And it is not yet known how the Oakland A’s beginning their season in late July will affect plans.
