Lawrence Hall of Science’s Brand New $3.25 Million Outdoor Nature Lab
Thanks to Berkleyside for announcing the grand opening of Lawrence Hall of Science’s brand new Outdoor Nature Lab. The brand new space opened on Saturday, June 19.
The new $3.25 million, 32,600-square-foot outdoor learning space is the first major expansion to The Lawrence in 20 years. The Robert & Elizabeth Karplus Outdoor Nature Lab encourages visitors to explore nature, as a stepping stone to helping them understand big ideas about the natural world.
Bring your curiosity to explore the stump stairs, practice using spotting scopes and binoculars to observe our local wildlife, test out our new self-guided nature activities, and enjoy the breathtaking view of the San Francisco Bay. Learn about nature journaling, videography, and photography as you observe lichen, birds, and other flora and fauna in this exciting and engaging new experience.
The space offers new learning experiences in an outdoor classroom. Plus pack a lunch because there’s a picnic area and there’s several viewing platforms to boot with 180-degree view of the San Francisco Bay.
The Lawrence Hall of Science is located at 1 Centennial Drive, Berkeley, CA.
