Annual giveaway of free bike lights thanks to Muni and the SF Bike Coalition | Nov 8 – Dec 13

Now that the clocks have fallen back, it’s going to get darker waaaay earlier.

So the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), and the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition (SFBC) are giving out thousands of  free front & rear bicycle lights to bikers who don’t already have them.

It’s all part of their “Light up the Night” campaign on November 8, 15, 27, and December 13, 2012 from 5-7pm.

  • Thursday, November 15th | 5-7PM | Mission
  • Tuesday, Novmber 27th | 5-7PM | Haight/Western Addition
  • Thursday, December 13th | 5-7PM | Lakeside/Lake Merced

While the exact locations have not been released, we’ve been told the bike light giveaway stations will be along normal commuting routes in each area to make sure the right people get them.

The “Light up the Night” campaign will target these cyclists by issuing free lights and talking with them about the importance of always using lights at night.
