Thanks to Broke-Ass Stuart for letting us know that according a long-time bar worker, Lucky 13 is closing down for good.

Lucky 13, located on Market Street between Sanchez and Church, has been on the chopping block for a while now, with long-standing rumors of being torn down and being replaced by condos.

UPDATE – Lucky 13 confirmed on their Facebook page on Friday that their last day ever will be Sunday, December 6th. They are opening up their parking lot to accommodate more storage for their final weekend. See updates on Facebook or Instagram.

The original news of the shutdown came from Barworker Noah Tao told Broke-Ass Stuart that the staff was told that the bar should be shutting down after December 20th, or earlier if outdoor dining ends.

Is this really happening? But things may not be final. Previously there were reports that Tommy’s Joynt had shut down permanently – rumors which later turned out to be false. So we’ll hold out hope that this is not true.

The Alameda location of Lucky 13 (1301 Park Street) still appears to be open with hours listed on Facebook as 3-8pm everyday.

If this is true, we’ll miss them greatly! Johnny Funcheap drank there on his wedding night, had a final drink there the last night before the shutdown back in March and has had many popcorn and booze fueled nights in their back patio.
