Parades, high heel “drag” races & picnics fill the three-day weekend

Having a staycation in the Bay Area over the three-day weekend?

You’re in luck as there’s tons of fun, free things to keep you busy.

Not only does Carnaval take over the Mission this weekend, but the Treasure Island Flea celebrates its 2nd anniversary and a German Beer & Sausage Festival on Saturday.

Watch some of the California’s top yo-yo tricksters on Saturday, honor our soldiers with parades and memorials on Monday and if you’re looking for an “Only in San Francisco” experience, the 2013 “Masturbate-a-thon” is on Saturday night.

On Monday there’s also an annual High Heel “Drag” Race… yes, drag queens race around the Castro in wobbily high heels, and there’s a potluck picnic and dance party in Dolores Park.

Whatever kind of flag you fly, we’re sure you’ll find something fun and interesting to do this weekend to keep you busy.
