Mountain Lion Safely Captured in SF Near Oracle Park
Local wildlife have been making their presence known in San Francisco lately. We’ve seen coyotes spotted by Golden Gate Bridge and on our empty streets. But in the past few days, mountain lions have been on the move.
As reported by KRON4, on Thursday morning, June 18, a mountain lion was spotted by Oracle Park – the second such sighting in the city this week.
Animal Control and Fish and Wildlife officials responded and safely captured the young, 50-pound mountain lion. They didn’t use tranquilizers; they only used a net to capture the animal and transport it away from the area.
The animal will be evaluated before being released back into nature.
