F-15 Fighter Jets Fly Over Bay Area (2020)

In a salute to healthcare workers, 144th Fighter Wing plans flyovers in Oakland, Richmond, Santa Clara and San Jose

As part of a nationwide salute to health care workers, first responders and essential personnel, four F-15C Eagle fighter jets, assigned to the California Air National Guard’s 144th Fighter Wing in Fresno, will perform a flyover over locations throughout California on May 13th, 2020.

Please note the jets aren’t planning on flying over the city of San Francisco, but will take off from Fresno at 10am and in the Bay Area fly over Richmond, Oakland, Fremont, Milpitas, Santa Clara San Jose and Santa Cruz, with the goal of flying close to medical centers, hospitals and fire departments.

Times are within a 10 minute window – see the map & schedule

  • Richmond/Oakland – 10:43am
  • San Jose – 10:56am

This isn’t an “air show” but just a quick flyover. So just make sure you watch from your house or neighborhood, don’t congregate in large numbers and practice social distancing. In addition to the Bay Area, the 144th Fighter Wing is scheduled to fly over Sacramento (CHP and State Capitol), plus Monterey, Long Beach, Los Angeles.
