Nor Cal’s “Great Wolf Lodge” Waterpark is Finally Open
Thanks to Alt 150.3 for letting us know that after a long delay, Northern California’s first Great Wolf Lodge opened for a “sneak preview” on June 15th and celebrates its grand opening June 29, 2021.
The six-story, 500-room family resort and massive indoor waterpark on a 29-acre site Manteca, (about 30 miles east of Livermore) was originally supposed to open in 2020.
According to the Modesto Bee, each day of your hotel reservation includes water park access, so a one-night stay would include two days at the water park.
Can I Just Buy a Water Park Day Pass?
Currently, no. The Manteca resort does not currently have a day-pass program for non-hotel guests, but it’s a feature that has been rolled out at their other resorts after demand from the initial grand opening has died down.
The 95,000-square-foot indoor waterpark is heated to 84 degrees and features 16 waterslides plus raft rides, activity pools and splash areas. There’s also an outdoor pool area.
The resort complex also features 45,000-square-foot family entertainment center known as the Great Wolf Adventure Park where families can enjoy a multi-level ropes course, play miniature golf, or step into the mystical world of MagiQuest, a live-action adventure game where players use interactive magic wands
to battle goblins and dragons.
How Much Does Great Wolf Lodge Cost?
It doesn’t come cheap! Summer rates (even with a 30% off “Grand Opening” offer) start at $170/night midweek (and $500/night on Saturdays) which include water park passes and a hotel room. If you’re looking for a “deal,” you’ll have to wait until after school starts September-December where midweek room rates drop to $140/night. See room rates and deals
