Oakland Airport Now Has Free Rapid COVID Testing

SFO charges $200. OAK now offers free rapid testing for the general public. No plane ticket required.

While SFO offers tests for $200, thanks to KRON4 for letting us know that Oakland International Airport has begun free rapid COVID-19 testing this week where you can receive your results in 15 minutes.

The free tests began on October 6, and you don’t even need a plane ticket to get tested. All OAK-based employees (including tenant airlines, concessionaires, ground handling companies, etc. are eligible for testing)

Additionally, the general public may be tested on a scheduled basis non-airport employees must schedule an appointment which is available between 9am and 5pm.

Schedule a rapid COVID-19 Test at Oakland Airport – as of today (10/7) the first available tests are on October 11

Tests are given at the airports North Field terminal complex at 9070 Earhart Road.

This testing is also helpful for those trying to avoid Hawaii’s mandatory 14-day quarantine. Starting October 15, Hawaii will accept a negative test result in order to skip quarantine.
