DELAYED Pier Crabbing Near the Golden Gate Bridge

Your first chance to RSVP for SF’s free pier crabbing lessons

Come to Fort Point at the base of the Golden Gate Bridge to try your hand at Pier Crabbing in the San Francisco Bay on alternating Saturdays from March through October.

In this weekly free class, National Park Service workers will teach you how to use the nets, discuss bait and regulations, and then loan you the equipment let you try your luck on the Fort Point pier.

– Please be aware that reservations often book up more than one month in advance.

> EVENT UPDATE: The lottery for the Fort Point Pier Crabbing program for March 1, 2016 has been delayed due to high levels of domoic acid toxins in northern California crab. Fort Point and the National Park Service want to ensure your safety when on any of our programs.

How to RSVP for the 2016 season:

  • March 1, 2016 – First day to RSVP by calling (415) 556-1693. Do not call before March 1st.
