San Francisco is getting a brand new Japanese bowling center.

A new Round1 Bowling & Arcade which originally opened in Japan back in 1993 will be opening up a new bowling complex with 12 lanes in Stonestown Galleria. Round1’s entertianment permit was approved by the San Francisco Entertainment Commission at their July 16, 2024 meeting. Representatives from Round1 were initally hopeful the arcade would open in early 2024, but now say a November 2024 date is more likely.

There are over 100 Round1s in Japan and over 50 Round1s in the U.S.

At some Round1 locations, they have “Spark” Bowling – an immersive bowling experience with a lane that’s an interactive video screen. Let’s hope Spark shows up at Stonestown.

Round1 will take over the old Nordstrom location which closed over four years ago, and will offer state-of-the-art entertainment the whole family can enjoy including bowling, karaoke, arcade games, billiards, darts, ping pong, food, and much more.
