SF Adds Permanent Water Taps for Homeless Population
Thanks to San Francisco Public Press for sharing the news that San Francisco is expanding the access to clean drinking water for some of our most vulnerable citizens.
Earlier in the pandemic, SF put in temporary water taps in three neighborhoods to help our homeless population have access to fresh water. And now those taps in the Tenderloin, Mission and Bayview-Hunters Point will be replaced with permanent taps.
The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission will begin installing the new permanent taps this month. They will be located near most of the 10 temporary water pipes that were installed last year.
This will be a big help for our residents without homes because access to fresh water is a major hurdle. Hopefully, the new water taps will make their lives a little easier, cleaner and safer.
