Once dubbed the “official ice cream of San Francisco” by former mayor Willie Brown, the iconic ’70s family-owned ice cream shop Double Rainbow is returning to San Francisco.
Thanks to SF Chronicle for letting us know that their brand new scoop shop is opening on Thursday, Nov. 12. at 415 Castro Street.
It’s the first scoop they’ve opened in decades, and it’s located just two doors down from their original 1976 shop in The Castro, which is now home to Hot Cookie.
Double Rainbow is bringing back their classic fan favorites plus some new surprises as well like PB&J and Vegan Banana with dark chocolate chips.
