Unfortunately, CBS SF announced the upsetting, but not terribly surprising news that the cost of gasoline in San Francisco is now the most expensive in the country, topping even Hawaii.
The price of gasoline across the US over the past 3 weeks jumped up an average of 9¢ a gallon to $2.35. However, the average is still 30¢ lower than the price a year ago. Here in San Francisco, the average cost of a gallon of regular unleaded gas is $3.40, which is the highest in the nation.
Wondering where the cheapest gas in the county is? That title belongs to Baton Rouge, Louisiana where locals can fill up for only $1.90/gallon on average.
