Amazing views on this hike of SF’s hills ending at a bar for beers

Popular urban hiking group, Hike It Up, returns for the first time in 2017 a Peaks and Pints hike. The 6 mile hike begins in Cole Valley on the corner of Parnassus and Willard Street, then it continues into Mt Sutro Forest (find the fairy gates).

Then the hike tackles its first peak by crossing Claredon Avenue to Twin Peaks Reservoir toward top of Twin Peaks Summit for an amazing view of the entire city. Heads up, it does get very windy at the peak. Carry on because this hike takes on two peaks.

“Hike It Up”: Peaks & Pints Hike
Sunday, July 9, 2017 – 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Cole Valley | Meet at bus stop at Willard & Parnassus, SF
FREE – but bring cash for drinks

The hike then heads downhill towards Glen Canyon Park. It is a city park that occupies about 70 acres along a deep canyon adjacent to the Glen Park, Diamond Heights, and Miraloma Park neighborhoods. It has amazing views.

After exploring the park, the group will be quite parched and in need of a cold pint. They’ll be stopping for drinks with the group at the Glen Park Station bar. This is a point A to point B, so plan accordingly for transportation as you will not be returning to Cole Valley where it began, but there is a Bart station at the end.
