SF Hotels Open Doors to Wildfire Evacuees for $75/Night
Thanks to SFIST for letting us know that some SF Hotels have reopened in order to accommodate wildfire evacuees with discount rates..
San Francisco’s vacant hotels have reopened their doors for the first time since April, giving them the opportunity to help by offering discounted rooms to evacuees due to the Northern California Wildfire. This also enables them to earn after months of not having a revenue.
The newly updated San Francisco Health Orders states that hotels are now allowed to rent rooms to individuals displaced by wildfires.
Here are some hotels found in SFIST, that accommodates wildfire evacuees:
- Handlery Hotel in Union Square – Typical $200-per-night minimum, now offers $75 nightly room rate with free parking and 10% Discount to Macy’s
- Hotel Emblem in Union Square – Offers 20-percent off of regular room rates.
Please note that it’s unclear how long these rates and offers will last, and how you will demonstrate that you are “affected” by the fires.
If you know any SF hotel that offers discounts to wildfire evacuees, please let us know.
San Francisco’s largely vacant hotels have an opportunity both to provide shelter to Bay Area residents displaced from their homes due to wildfire evacuation orders, and to make some revenue after months of making zero. https://t.co/lmafiAhMEy
