All SF Libraries Shut Down Until (At Least) April 7

All 28 libraries closed until April 7th, but child-care services on hold

Beginning Monday, March 16, all 28 Library locations will be closed to the public until April 7.

The Library’s robust digital services will continue to give card holders 24/7 free access to eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, movies, classes and more including free streaming of more than 30,000 films

Update as of 3/20/20 – All locations of the San Francisco Public Library are closed through April 7. During this period, we will continually assess this developing situation to determine the length of closure.

All library programs, classes and events are canceled through May 31, 2020. This also includes any scheduled meetings being held in library community rooms.

Please note that previously the San Francisco Public Library was going to operate as an emergency care facilities for children of parents on the front lines of the COVID-19 outbreak and low-income families, but due to staffing issues this decision is on hold.
