Thanks to KRON4 for letting us know that the San Francisco Department of Health has changed their health order and will now require boosters for people attending indoor events with 500+ attendees starting on February 1st.

This is a change in the definition of what is considered a “mega-event” by the SF Dept. of Health. Originally back in December 2021, SF considered only indoor venues with more than 1,000 attendees to be a “mega-event.”

The new requirement for “up-to-date” vaccinations (which means anyone who is eligible for a booster needs to have one) goes into effect February 1, 2022.

Operators and hosts of indoor mega-events must check for proof of a booster for those staff and patrons who are eligible starting February 1, 2022, but they have until March 1, 2022 to check for proof of a booster for children aged 12 to 15.
