Sorry SF… Tamales Are All Sold Out for Christmas

Eater’s two top picks for tamales in San Francisco have sold out for Christmas

Thanks to Eater for letting us know the best places to get tamales over the holidays. Unfortunately, you and just about everyone else wants tamales for Christmas.

Eater’s two favorite spots in San Francisco are sold out (like El Buen Comer at 3435 Mission in Bernal or La Palma Mexicatessen at 2884 24th St. which finished taking orders for Christmas on December 20th)

And although it’s not on Eater’s list, the popular Roosevelt Tamale Parlor (2817 24th Street) has also sold out for Christmas.

If you don’t mind waiting until after Christmas then you’re probably in luck. Otherwise, set your calendar reminder for December 1st next year.

For a last minute tamale fix, you might have better luck at your local spot like Taqueria Vallarta (3033 24th St.), La Espiga De Oro (2916 24th St.) or El Metate (2406 Bryant St.)

See the full list of tamale joints at Eater along with their favorites in Oakland, Berkeley plus lots of background about each spot.
