The Fairmont San Francisco’s annual Gingerbread Holiday Open House kicks off with an official opening of the giant gingerbread house with complimentary holiday refreshments and holiday music.

Due to popular demand, the gingerbread house’s railroad track has been extended, which will surely delight the many train-loving children who happily gaze upon this favorite feature. More holiday characters and moving parts have also been added to increase the holiday magic.

For more than a century, The Fairmont San Francisco has enchanted guests with its joyful holiday festivities and exuberant ambiance. Once again, The Fairmont elves are working overtime this season to create the iconic hotel’s unparalleled interior and exterior holiday décor.

The Fairmont San Francisco’s talented culinary team has meticulously planned for construction of this year’s enormous Gingerbread House, which will be equal in size to last year’s stunning, two-story-high Victorian. Once complete, the house will stand more than 22 feet high and 23 feet wide and include thousands of home-baked gingerbread bricks and more than a ton of royal icing and candy décor.

The world-famous Giant Gingerbread House will be on display through January 1, 2017. A special donation box situated by the gingerbread house will benefit Michael Franti’s “Do it for the Love” Foundation throughout the holiday season.
