SF’s Brand New “Francisco Park” Coming in Early 2021

After brief construction hiatus due to shelter-in-place, new 4.5 acre park on track for 2021 opening

We just got an exciting update from Francisco Park, the new 4.5 acre park, overlooking Aquatic Park is confirmed on track for opening in early 2021. This park, located on an unused 4.5 acre site of a former reservoir, was initially announced to open late 2020, but construction had been halted due to shelter in place. Construction resumed in late May.

The park was envisioned, funded, and built by community members in partnership with the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department. They dreamed of transforming the abandoned reservoir into a public park where visitors could interact with nature, gather to picnic, exercise, play, and enjoy the park’s exquisite flora, fauna, and peerless views.

With $25M already raised for Francisco Park, they are now launching a public campaign to raise the final $2.5M to complete the park. The
