Let’s face it. With all of the negative news headlines, the world has felt overwhelming lately. All this tolerating uncertainty takes a toll. But there’s some good news, too! It’s a well-known fact that taking action is good for our mental health, and just when we need it most, the San Francisco Department of the Environment has made it easy to be the change in climate change.

April is Climate Action Month in SF. Your chance to show your love for the Earth and your City.

Join your neighbors in free hands-on events – from workshops and talks, to classes and outdoor activities. Together, we can make a powerful and lasting impact. 2022 Climate Action Month Highlights

Get off of Gas & Save Money:
Electric Vehicles & How to Go Electric at Home

– Wednesday April 13, 2022
– Noon to 1pm – Free Electric Vehicle Event (Online)
Ready to ditch high gas prices while fighting climate change? Learn how to cut your costs and get $1000s in rebates/tax credits for electric vehicles & electric energy-saving appliances at home in this free event. Sign Up (Free)

Bike Ride for Climate Action (GG Park to Ocean Beach)
– Saturday, April 23 10am – 12:30pm
– Meet on JFK Drive, Golden Gate Park (near Conservatory of Flowers)
Join the SF Department of the Environment and the SF Bicycle Coalition for a free guided ride. This ride will stop at multiple sites in Golden Gate Park and Ocean Beach showcasing what San Francisco and its residents are doing to create a sustainable, low-carbon city. Sign Up (Free)

Youth Taking Climate Action Service Day
– Saturday, April 30 10am – 1pm
– Multiple parks/playgrounds throughout San Francisco
Join SF Department of Environment & SF Recreation and Parks Department for a children & family STEM service day. This free event brings together Bay Area youth and connects them to nature. Youth age 12+ accompanied by adults or family members. Sign Up (Free)
