Thanks to CBS5 for letting us know that after a long delay to the commercial Dungeness crab season in the Bay Area, the season has finally begun. But fisherman report that the initial catches have been disappointing.

Typically crab fishermen will see 10-25 crabs per pot, but so far this year they are only seeing 2-4 crabs if they are lucky.

The wholesale price so far for 2021 is $2.75, which is much lower than last year.
