SF’s Major Museums Closing Down Again
Now that San Francisco has moved into the “purple” tier, the state mandates that all indoor museums shut down. So far the SFMOMA, Asian Art Museum, Legion of Honor and de Young have all announced on Saturday afternoon that they are temporarily closing down again starting November 29th.
We expect many updates and confirmations to follow…

- Asian Art Museum – closed
- de Young – closed
- Legion of Honor – closed
- Walt Disney Family Museum – closed
- California Historical Society – closed
- California Academy of Sciences – closed
- GLBT Historical Society Museum – closed
- Conservatory of Flowers – closed
- Museum of Craft and Design – closed
- Contemporary Jewish Museum – closed
- Aquarium of the Bay – closed
- The Exploratorium – closed (had not reopened yet)
- Yerba Buena Center for the Arts – closed (had not reopened yet)
- Museum of the African Diaspora (MoAD) – closed (had not reopened yet)
- All indoor museums scheduled to follow soon with announcements
Still Open
- San Francisco Zoo – Open, but indoor exhibitions and little puffer train are closed.
