SF’s Massive “Pink Triangle” Lights Up for 2022 (June 1-July 1)

What’s an acre in size, has 2,700 LED lights and can be seen from space? Get ready for the 27th edition of Twin Peaks’ Pink Triangle for Pride month

Get ready for 2,700 pink lights to turn on for the 2022 edition of the Pink Triangle on Twin Peaks in San Francisco.

The Pink Triangle has been installed atop Twin Peaks in San Francisco for each Pride weekend since 1996, as a visible yet mute reminder of man’s inhumanity to man. It is almost 200 feet across, nearly an acre in size, and can be seen for 20 miles.

The triangle, which organizers with Pink Triangle of Twin Peaks say covers about an acre on the hillside, will be illuminated nightly for a month starting Wednesday, using 2,700 pink LED nodes from Illuminate, the nonprofit organization behind the light display on the Bay Bridge.

New for 2022: This year will not only see the triangle illuminated at night (by the same team that brought us the Bay Lights), but thanks to over 1 mile of shiny new reflective pink streamers hung next to every row of lights, whenever the wind blows the triangle should shimmy and sparkle over the city during daylight hours as well.
