SF’s “Palace of Fine Arts” Reopens October 3
After being closed for more than a year during the COVID pandemic, San Francisco’s historic Palace of Fine Arts has finally announced the resumption of concerts and performances in their theater for 2021 and 2022.
The first performance listed on the theater’s upcoming calendar is comedy queen and RuPaul’s Drag Race champion Bianca Del Rio scheduled to perform on October 3, 2021.
Other upcoming shows include Andrew McMahon with Zac Clark (Oct. 4), Rick Wakeman (Nov. 11), comedian David Spade (Nov. 19), comedian Fortune Feimster (Mar. 12, 2022) and Snow Patrol (Mar. 17, 2022). See the full upcoming schedule of events and note that schedules are always subject to change, shows can be canceled and other shows might be added.
Other than a one-off outdoor performance in front of the Palace in May 2021, these will be the first performances in the theater since Colin Hay of Men at Work headlined a concert on March 4, 2020 before the venue was shut down at the beginning of COVID.

The Palace of Fine Arts was built in 1915 for the Panama Pacific International Exposition as a temporary structure intended to show off the city’s recovery from the 1906 earthquake and fire.
