SF’s Secret Stairs & Nature Trails
Traverse the city on an all day hike that will go through the major hills of San Francisco to soak in all the great views.
The entire loop encompasses every kind of city and park terrain; some parts are quite steep, but much of it is flat. Meet at Martha & Brothers Coffee in Bernal Heights at 11 am. Feel free to hike as long as you like; do one hill or do them all.
Hilltop Hike Across the City
Sunday, December 27, 2015 – 11:00 am to 5:00 pm
Martha & Brothers Coffee (Bernal Heights) | 745 Cortland Ave, SF
FREEThe hike covers 13 miles with little-known stairways and surprising nature trails; the hike starts at Bernal Hill and goes to Holly Park, Glen Canyon, Mount Davidson, Twin Peaks, Tank Hill, Monument Hill, the Vulcan and Saturn Steps, Corona Heights with the Castro, Dolores Park and finally onto the murals of Clarion Alley on your way back to Bernal.
Recommended Clothing:
Wear light layers and good shoes for pavement, trails and steps. Sneakers are fine, as are hiking boots. Last time some folks in porous running shoes were distressed when the trail got muddy in Glen Canyon… mud could happen again.
