Three Statues Torn Down in Golden Gate Park by Protesters
Thanks to KRON4 for letting us know that demonstrators tore down three controversial statues in Golden Gate Park on Friday night.

Protesters took down three statues in the music concourse area in between the de Young and California Academy of Sciences. Ropes were thrown around the a Francis Scott Key (who wrote the Star Spangled Banner, whose family had links to slavery)
Protesters also knocked over the statues from Junípero Serra and Ulysses S. Grant.
These statues being torn down follow Thursday’s pre-emptive removal of the Christopher Columbus statue from Coit Tower by the city.
