Witness the Summer Beat Battle hosted by PhillipDrummond Philthybeats and judged by Mr. Carmack, Today’s Future Sound staff, and the audience. Plus check out a video series playing along with projection art, dancers and graffiti writers in 2nd floor Art Gallery of the Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts.

$5 cover to watch and listen. $10 to enter battle. 21+

There will be sets by BayRoo Burner and Mike Maitre’d Cochran emmceed by Reid Richards and deejayed by Hamilton Duff aka Timestretch.

Want to compete? Sign up by emailing: info@beatshoplabs.com. Bring your best beats (no specific sample flips or sample pack), bring your own controller – they’re gonna have a big DJ table where you can set up your gear and leave it — no constant breakdown and set up.

Contestants get a 4 GB sample pack just for entering.

  • 1st prize: AKAI MPK Mini + Beat Shop T-Shirt
  • 2nd prize: Reason Essentials Software + Beat Shop T-Shirt
  • 3rd prize: Drive with 50 GB of Samples + Beat Shop T-Shirt

Food, drink, clothing, iPad apps, and original art will be for sale. The event is a fundraiser for Beatshop Labs.
